What is the price for greed? Is the price of gold really worth killing another man who has the same desire for it? In The Pardoner's Tale the corruption of greed is the moral of his story, but what makes this ironic regarding the Pardoner? Some ironic scenes from the tale are how the rioters seek to find Death, but instead find gold, which leads them all to the path called death. Another is how the reader knows how the three rioters will die, but not the characters themselves. Lastly, how the moral of the story corresponds to the Pardoner himself.
The first Ironic scene portrayed in The Pardoner’s Tale was how the rioters were seeking to find Death but instead found treasure and forgot completely about what they were originally finding in the first place. In the end they found Death, which makes this scene ironic how finding gold lead them to finding death. The readers reaction to the irony of this scene was self exclamatory. Once the reader finds out how the three were seeking to find Death, then find treasure, and then kill each other in the end over the treasure, they will notice that in the end the three rioters found Death and somewhat knew it would to happen to all three of the characters.
A second ironic scene in The Pardoner’s Tale was how the reader knew how each of the three rioters will die while the characters did not know what they would be headed for in the future. This is ironic because the reader knew what is in-store for the characters, but not the characters themselves. The reader will seem to be bewildered once they find out that the three rioters planed on killing each other without them knowing they were going to kill each other in the end.
A third example of irony in The Pardoner’s Tale is not found in the actual tale, but the moral of the story and how it responds the the Pardoner. If the reader were to read the prologue of The Canterbury Tales they will discover that the Pardoner was a very corrupt man and was greedy. The whole moral of the Pardoner’s Tale was that greed is destructive, very corrupt, and could lead to death. Once the reader finds out that the moral of this tale is the corruption of greed and how it could lead to death, they will ponder the question of why the Pardoner says greed is corrupt when the Pardoner himself is greedy. The reader is given the thought that the Pardoner is a hypocrite when he says greed is bad, but is greedy himself.
Irony can be found all through out The Pardoner’s Tale. Scenes like the rioters trying to find death in which they find gold that leads to their death, or where the reader know how the characters will die but not the characters themselves are examples of irony found in the tale.

Pygmalion
How does speech effect are success in life, and what are the differences in morality through different social classes? In this post we are going to explore these two different themes that will give us a better understanding on how speech and morality effect our success in life. In the play Pygmalion themes such as how are speak, politeness, morality, equality, and social status can effect how successful we can become in life.
One of the major themes discussed in the play Pygmalion was how middle class morality differed from lower class morality. In the play Mr. Doolittle describes these differences when he visits Henry Higgins and asks for five pounds to basically allow Mr. Higgins to keep his daughter. He also mentions that he was going to use the money to enjoy a weekend with the misses instead of maybe saving it for something more important in the future. Later on in the play Mr. Doolittle becomes part of the middle class because of a small fortune he was offered to speak about morality. As he climbs up the social ladder he says he might as well get married because that would be the moral thing to do when someone is living with you. These two events show us how middle class morality differs from lower class morality, and how some actions of the lower class people in order to survive can be seen as unmoral in a middle class society. This theme can be some what relatable in our society today, however, not as noticeable as it was back in the late 19th and early 20th century. As a middle class citizen when someone steals things from a store or leaves their children with their spouse alone to fend for themselves, I find it immoral. I understand though that you need to do what you must do in order to survive.
A second major theme in the play Pygmalion was how speech can somehow determine what social class you fall in, and how it will effect your success in life. Throughout the play Liza struggles to learn how to talk proper and have a proper conversation. As a flower girl she had a terrible english accent and was part of the lower class. This shows us that people tend to speak improper if they live in the lower class as compared to the middle/upper class. As she learns how to speak like a proper lady should we see that she, all of a sudden, jumps a social class and becomes part of the middle class just because of the way she speaks. This theme teaches us how learning to speak proper english can help us become successful in life. As in todays society many people judge other people by the way they talk. Personally I find this statement true even in my stand point. If I want to become successful in life, I must learn how to talk to people more formally especially in job interviews and in my career in general.
Pygmalion has a lot of major themes that teach us important things in life such as learning how to talk properly, how morality differs between social classes, politeness, equality, and social classes in general. Many of these themes are important in today’s society as well as back in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Goals
We all have goals in which we desire to fulfill. Some are easy to reach and some that are just out of our reach. My name is Cody Ross and I am high school senior who has many goals and dreams in life that may be easy or hard, but not impossible to reach. These are goals in which I hope to fulfill even though some may be tough.
It is my senior year in high school, and there are a few goals I hope to achieve before I graduate. Before I graduate high school I hope to sustain my strait A streak. Throughout my high school career I have always had strait a’s except for my freshman year where I have gotten a B here and there and a C for my foreign language. Ever since sophomore year I have gotten strait A’s, and at this point I have a GPA of about 3.8. Getting strait A’s has always been a goal of mine throughout my school years and I plan to keep on achieving this goal. While I am in high school I also want to score at least a 25 on the ACT. So far in my high school career I have taken the ACT twice and got an 18 the first time and a 20 the second time. My goal is to score a higher grade on the ACT so that I can get excepted into good colleges.
After I graduate high school I plan on going to college and hopeful get at least an undergraduate degree in accounting or some other type of business major. I might even continue my studies try to ubtain a masters degree. Six to eight years from now I plan on having a career involving business weather it be accounting, business management, of financial advising. Business interests me and its something I wish to be involved in. Also in six or so years I plan to get a new car or own a little house. Right now I have to drive a car that, at this moment of time, has a bent hood, bumper, and fender. Hopefully in six years or so I will have saved enough money to buy a new car and maybe even a house than an apartment(which I will probably be living in while in college).
My life time goals are things that I hope to achieve during my life time. One of them is to start a family and have a good career that brings home the bacon. I plan on having no more than two kids and a wife. I also hope on making at least sixty thousand a year with my business degree. In my life time I also plan on learning how to play the electric guitar, learn another language, go bungee jumping, and traveling to a different country. I love music which is a reason why I want to learn to play the electric guitar. I have also never been out of the country. A country I hope to visit one day is to visit either Italy, New Zealand, France, Great Britain, or Brazil. My life time goals are, as you can say, things that you may find on my bucket list, each of which are not impossible to reach.
Everyone has goals that are possible to reach and possible to dream of. It is up to us to peruse them if we choose to do so. All these goals listed above are goals in which I will try my hardest to fulfill even though some may seem far fetched and out of my reach.
